In the context of a Focus-Project in collaboration with mechanical engineering students from ETH Zurich, Nora Strebel and I were responsable for the design of the SkinReactor machine. The purpose of this machine is to multiply skin cells of children patients for creating patches of new skin to cure severe burns.
Our task was not to create a production-ready product, but rather a machine that helps the researchers improve the process of tissue engineering. At the end we built the SkinReactor, which is now beeing tested and improved in the lab.
