Relume is a workplace lamp designed by Richard Wassmann. It uses an upward-facing metal-halide spotlight and a reflector, letting 30% of the light pass through to the ceiling. My task was to adapt the lamp to LED technology and expand it into a product family covering workplace, corridor and conference-table lamps, with a focus on a light, floating appearance.
The result was a set of three cardboard-and-metal models at 1:1 scale, presented to the head of Durlum AG, the lamp's manufacturer.
